SYNECDOCHE PORTRAITS

I completed this group of portraits over the course of about a year when I was hyper-fixated on breaking images down into blocks and parts, compelled by the ability to fill in the gaps mentally. I think my love of patterns, logic and maths played a large role in figuring out who I was as an artist.
Each piece is in a different medium and uses a different methodology:
Coloured sticker dots (red, green, blue, yellow, black & white) - Marilyn portrait
Pointillism using white markers on black paper
My thumbprints & black ink - hand portrait
Pointillism using black markers on white paper
Graphite squares - John Lennon portrait
